Here is the projects schedule, which dates back to the start of the project in 1990 and showing the projects scheduled completion time. As you will read it has taken alot of time, planning and hard work to bring this project together.
 
2010
July - Installation of three fitness stations
2005
 
July - The 22nd was the BBQ and Dedication with the compleation of the walk.
 
2004
 
October- The Riverwalk opens up for the public on October 20th for photos click link to right.
 
September - Construction of Riverwalk expected to be complete.
 
July - Construction bid process started and awarded.
 
June - Design specification refined and prepared for bid process
 
April - primary trail access constructed as city sewer line was built.
 
2002
 
December - Authorization to proceed with bidding by CTEP
 
November - Final plans and specs submitted for review
 
October - Comments received back from CTEP and county
 
September - First draft of plans and specs submitted to CTEP, county and permitting agencies for reviewd
 
July - Topo and Base map completed
 
June - Path location finalized
 
May - Riverwalk Park BBQ and Fund Raiser held at Historical Village
 
February - TD & H Engineering selected as design firm for the park
 
2001
 
October - CTEP grant is approved for $202,000
 
August - Riverwalk Park booth set-up at County Fair to promote and advertise park
 
April - Tours provided at Eureka Rendezvous Days
 
March - CTEP grant submitted to state
 
February - Tobacco Valley News runs article outlining park project
 
January - Public meeting held to solicit input on park project
 
2000
 
December- Project cost estimate started for CTEP grant
 
October - Name "Riverwalk" given to the park and work is started on getting grant money to fund park creation
 
Summer - Committee formed to start developing the park and walking path. Contact made with Lincoln Electric and InterBel Telephone (the land owners) to discuss the park idea.
 
June- Initial map created of park and trail concept created
 
Spring - Doc Ivy and Buck tour land and outline first basic path locations and direction to take
 
1999
 
Summer - Doc Ivy and Buck Schermerhorn re-kindle and discuss the park idea over a game of horseshoes at Roo's lot on Glen Lake.
 
1990
Summer - Andy Ivy (Doc Ivy) first introduces the idea of a walking path and park, making presentations to the land owners (Lincoln Electric and InterBel Telephone).
