Help Restore the Eureka Riverwalk

The Eureka Riverwalk has always been more than just a trail. It’s where our community gathers, where families stroll together, where kids learn to fish, and where neighbors pause to appreciate the beauty of the Tobacco River. For decades, it has offered a peaceful, scenic space that connects us not only to nature, but also to one another. However, years of use and harsh Montana winters have taken their toll. Parts of the trail have eroded, surfaces have become uneven due to tree root exposure, and accessibility is limited for many who would love to enjoy it. That’s why we’re coming together to restore and improve the Riverwalk — and we need your help.

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a lasting difference. Funds raised will go toward repairing and resurfacing the trail, improving accessibility for strollers and wheelchairs, replacing worn signage and benches, and stabilizing the riverbank with erosion control measures to protect this space for future generations. Every dollar we raise locally not only moves these improvements forward — it also strengthens our position to receive matching funds through grants like the Recreational Trails Program (RTP). In other words, your contribution can be multiplied, turning local generosity into an even greater community investment.

This project isn’t just about improving a trail — it’s about preserving a space that defines who we are. The Riverwalk reflects the spirit of Eureka: hardworking, close-knit, and deeply connected to the land and water that sustain us. By supporting this effort, you’re helping ensure that families, visitors, and future generations will continue to have a safe, beautiful space to walk, bike, and connect with the outdoors right here in our own backyard.

If you believe in keeping Eureka strong, healthy, and connected, please consider donating today. Together, we can bring new life to the Eureka Riverwalk — and continue a legacy of community and care that runs as deep as the river itself.

Additional Funding Still Needed

After 20 + years of community enjoyment, the Riverwalk is showing signs of wear and tear.  The Eureka Riverwalk Foundation Board has managed to raise funds through pancake breakfasts and other small fundraisers to replace signs and repair and stain benches.  But now the walkway needs replacement.  We have received many generous donations from local businesses and community members and are looking at grant opportunities to help with this project.  Every little bit counts, so please if you can, donate to the Riverwalk!!

All donations to the Eureka Riverwalk go directly toward trail improvements and maintenance. Contributions are tax-deductible, as the Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the State of Montana (No. 390655, established January 17, 2002).

Every donation — large or small — is deeply appreciated and directly supports the restoration of this treasured community trail.
